Exterior insulation

Insulation materials are installed on the exterior of a building. It is a method of increasing the insulation capabilities of the building that can provide several benefits, including improved energy efficiency, reduced energy consumption, increased comfort, and better moisture management.

Exterior insulation can be installed on new or existing buildings and is commonly used in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. We provide installation of two common types. One of them is Rigid Foam Insulation and the second one is Mineral Wool Insulation. Commonly used dimensions are from 1.5″ to 3″. Each of these materials has its own unique properties and benefits, and the choice of material will depend on the specific needs of the project.

The installation process for exterior insulation can vary depending on the type of insulation used. The most common way to attach insulation to the exterior of the building is by using mechanical fasteners or adhesives. It is important to ensure that the insulation is properly installed and sealed to prevent air leaks and moisture infiltration.

Concrete Faced Insulation

Concrete-faced insulation is a type of insulation that is made up of a layer of rigid foam insulation with a layer of concrete. The concrete layer provides a durable and fire-resistant surface (usually paintable), while the foam insulation provides thermal insulation and moisture resistance. Concrete-faced insulation is designed for use in perimeter foundations and low-rise wall installation. The use of exterior insulation helps to control dew point location, which in turn extends the life cycle of masonry structures by minimizing freeze-thaw cycle exposure.
Panels are installed using specially designed galvanized steel mounting clips secured by concrete screws. Panels can be also secured by special Foamboard Adhesive. The most common brands are CFI® from Tech-Crete and WallGUARD® from T Clear.
